This Privacy Policy explains how Opulence Transport ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects the personal information of visitors to our website and clients of our chauffeur service. We are the data controller for the personal data we hold about you and are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom.
1. Information we collect
- Booking data: name, email address, phone number, pick-up and drop-off addresses, date and time of travel, passenger and luggage counts, flight number where applicable, and any special requests you tell us about.
- Payment data: processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card details on our servers.
- Contact data: messages you send through our contact form or by email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, collected via cookies and analytics tools.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and complete your chauffeur booking, including passing your pick-up details to your assigned driver.
- To contact you about your booking or changes to it.
- To take payment for the service.
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations as a licensed private hire operator.
- To improve our website and services through anonymised analytics.
3. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of (a) performance of a contract (fulfilling your booking), (b) legitimate interests (running our business, responding to enquiries, preventing fraud), (c) legal obligation (private hire licensing, tax and accounting), and (d) consent (marketing communications, non-essential cookies).
4. Third parties and Google Maps
We share the minimum necessary data with third parties to deliver the service. This includes our payment processor, our booking and dispatch platform, and — where applicable — our chauffeur partners. Our website uses Google Maps for route display and address lookup, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy.
5. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting analytics cookies.
6. Data retention
We retain booking and financial records for the period required by UK law (currently six years). Contact form messages are retained for up to two years unless they form part of an ongoing relationship. Marketing preferences are held until you withdraw consent.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@opulencetransport.co.uk.
8. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
